by Abraar
The
whispering of the tree broke
The silence
within
A further
nudge by the wind opened me
To a sound
heavier than a pin
Dark settled
calls rubbed my lids
Quick hazy
noise turned me
Over and
over the sheets
My ears felt
softer at their tip and
Burdened at
a drop of prickly hums
Flapping
sounds beneath my skin
Roared the
openings to pour-
Everything
of that night kept me
From sleep
Blaring
aches on head
Tumbling
base to ground
So I
remained held in the evenness of
Thoughts- as
the morning looked ahead
And bothered
about the night’s journey
All the long
while- the mosquito’s poison
Spread
wildly in turns-
Making a
single tap heavier than a stone
