Threads of Fate

by merissa

He was born twelve midnight
His mother's breathing became light
His father glowed like a knight

In two years,he grew
Taller,broader,than any of his crew
His intelligence vaster than the hues

By seven,he had total control
He owned an army and a patrol
Oh! And he had his father turned to a troll

He led them into war by seventeen
He was cruel, he was heartless, he was no ordinary teen
He had conquered three empires by eighteen

She was born in a gutter
Her first cries were because a stone cut her
She was left there,no one's daughter

In two years,she shone
Her first memories of a priestess who adorned
And then again, she was left all alone

By seven, she could steal an elephant
Put it into a backpack and can't
Be caught; smart as an ant

She led an unimaginable life by seventeen
She was swift, she was cunny, was no ordinary teen
She had conquered all her humanity by eighteen

They met on familiar grounds
He destroying people's worlds; she smuggling the out of bounds
The connection was deeper than the souls it bound

Together, they embarked on the world's most feared journey
The link they shared in hatred for mankind, their honey
They would own eternity and everything to the last mommy

This greed that bound them together grew stronger
It fed their souls, neither surpassing the other
And yet something else crept in for one; a need to own order

He grew tired, she grew more wanting
She wanted the universe at her feet, an idea he found daunting
And slowly, the threads which linked their fates together broke.
